This is my first time doing a sample post, but it was time to clean out my bathroom drawer.
The only reason I like any sample posts is because it’s like a first impression. It’s a bit hard to detect if a product works properly after one product I admit, but I also think it’s important to know how a product will react upon first contact with the skin.
I tried a few products t right after a bath, and the rest was before bed. I know it’s a lot of product in one go, but like I said – I wanted to get rid of these samples, plus I have backup skin saviours in case I get a bad reaction!
Yu-Be Foaming Skin Polish
To be honest, I was expecting a squeaky clean feeling from this product. It was a very nice scrub, smell wasn’t potent at all, and it was quite a jelly like cleanser. It had a light foaming effect, but nothing too overbearing.
On my face I’d say it scrubbed pretty well, but nothing beats my old school Korean Italy Towel. However, my face felt normal after I used it, and once I toweled off it felt quite smooth.
I also tested this on my chest and behind my legs, cause those areas have been feeling a bit bumpy. Truthfully, not much changed after I scrubbed for a couple of minutes and even left it to sit for another.
The serum is clear and very light. When I applied it to my face it covered the surface easily. Even though it has BHA in it, my face never tingled or felt sensitive after using the serum. Again, my face felt quite smooth still.
The texture is a mix of a gel and cream. It has quite a cloudy colour. Although it spread light on my skin, it felt good. My skin does not feel tight at all after using it, however I think I’d have to use a moisturizing serum/essence in conjunction since my skin has been dry.
So far: skin is smooth, and feels normal. The breakouts on my chin (always there of course) do not feel painful.
Alterna Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction Leave in Hair Perfector
This product smells so good; light scent of lemon but it’s not too sweet. Very creamy. Applied to the hair nicely and I was able to brush out my hair easily right after applying to wet hair. However the one problem I have with this is that my hair doesn’t stay soft for long, even with the large amount of product I applied.
This one has been compared a lot to the C2.1 Vitamin C Serum. From one use of this though, it is not as sticky and I like the texture better. It is very watery, but it still feels like an oil. It slipped on the skin very easily, and I had no bad reaction to it.
This serum is also light. What really got to me about this product is when I patted it on my other fingers and I saw the stickiness – like snail mucus. I know I should have expected it but it threw me off guard. It was odd, but I still liked the product!
And that’s that for this Sample Sunday! All products proved to be very gentle in ingredients with no bad reactions. If I had to pick one to buy full size, I would go with the COSRX Snail Essence, because it’s different from any other product I’ve tried and has been quite a hyped ingredient for healing skin!
Enjoy the week – brace yourselves for more posts!
