FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Boo Bamboo Bamboo Fiber Charcoal Sheet Mask (Hydrating)

Sunday was a day of much tiredness. I spent all of Saturday outside in the sun, and ended up pretty dehydrated. I decided to have a TLC day to bring back hydration into my skin and feel like a brand new woman.

Sheet masks are the bomb(dot)com for instant rehydration, so I was very excited to try the Boo Bamboo Bamboo Fiber Charcoal Sheet Mask (Hydrating) that was sent to me to review. It is the first Western sheet mask I’ve tried, but I expected great things because this sheet mask was made in Korea.

Application & Wear

Immediately after taking it out of its packaging I noticed how thick the sheet mask was! Peeking inside, the sheet mask definitely did not waste any essence, for there was barely anything on the packaging. The sheet mask was nicely drenched with essence and was not as messy as most masks.

I’ve been favouriting the Etude House 0.2mm Sheet Masks because of how drenched they are and how well they fit my face;  I have to say, Boo Bamboo’s sheet masks fits even better. It seems picky, but I really like the added slits at the top part of the nose, and the chin/jaw area, to really customize the mask to one’s individual features.

Upon application, I noticed a scent. It’s difficult to describe, but it wasn’t necessarily the charcoal, the coconut, the aloe… and it wasn’t the rose water like it claims on the front of the package. Perhaps it was the bamboo leaf extract? Not sure what that smells like, but it wasn’t unpleasant.

I left the mask on for 20 minutes, and that seems to be the cut-off. By that time, I noticed the mask was slightly drier and not as rich with essence. I always use the remainder on my neck, chest and body!

Results

Supah smooth! My face looked hydrated, plump, even tone and healthy. It didn’t aggravate the one cyst I have on my temple, but it seems it didn’t really do anything to help it either. My skin didn’t feel like was covered in serum, it felt like I applied a moisturizer! It’s the first time I had such a rich, moisturized feeling after a sheet mask.

All in all, once my Korean brand sheet masks run out, I’ll be looking towards these for skin salvation! I’m very impressed by the quality of the mask and ingredients, and am really looking forward to trying the other masks from the line.
