February 2018 Roundup

Despite me moving at the end of February, I managed to roundup products I’ve been favouriting for the month and still kept my empty products for this post!

Note:

Products that were sent to me or gifted have (PR) or (gift) next to them.

Favourites

Essence Lip Liner 11 In the Nude

First lip liner from the drugstore that doesn’t irritate my lips, AND is less than $3 CAD! This has been my go-to lip liner for light lips or just wearing on it’s own. The shade is a tad lighter than my lip colour, but it gets the job done.

Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick (gift)

Perfect mauve colour! I’m impressed that this liquid lipstick doesn’t dry out my lips and actually lets the condition of them be. There’s a bit of a cooling sensation on application but it did not irritate my lips. Upon application I’m very happy that it isn’t patchy like my KVD Vampira. It lasts quite a while, not too much transferring or bleeding on the edges.

Dr. G Brightening Peeling Gel

Although gommage-type peeling gels are not really my favourite, this one definitely shows its performance by how smooth my face looks afterwards. My face isn’t amazingly bright after use, but it does look even-tone. Maybe with consistent use brightness will be more noticeable.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask (PR)*

I won’t go into too much detail with this, but I defintiely need to give it a shout out because of how good it makes my skin look and feel, especially after living in a dry apartment all winter! Dynamic Duo? Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop & Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Face Mask

Cuccio Naturale Non-Oily, Hydrating Butter (gift)

Nick’s mom gave this to us as part of our Christmas gift last year, and it has been an addiction. Aside from it’s lovely relaxing smell, it actually feels like it’s moisturizing deeply within the layers of my skin! After moving and washing everything all day err’ day, this body cream is a lovely, soothing treat.

Empties

Divine Essence Organic Labrador Tea Floral Water (PR)

Probably one of my favourite mists I’ve tried! It’s pretty affordable, actually hydrates my skin, and doesn’t disrupt my makeup. The only reason I’m not going to be purchasing it is because I’m still using my Dermalogica one, and I’ve been eyeing a mist on SokoGlam that contains Birch Juice. Otherwise if you’re looking for something more convenient, go with this one!

Acure Aromatherapeutic Moroccan Argan Oil Rose (PR)

I finally finished it! Parting is such sweet sorrow, I was holding onto this for too long because I didn’t want the good times to end. I feel like this is my problem with using up products though – I’m afraid that once I finish a product up, I won’t be able get it again. This mindset has been slowly changing now that I’m set on finishing up products, I actually look forward to using something up and seeing an empty container!

North American Hemp Co. Hemp Holy Grail Body Lotion (PR)

This was an okay body lotion. I found I had to use quite a bit in one area to get some type of hydrated feeling. Having said that, it didn’t really help much in the winter time on my dry legs. I won’t be purchasing the full size, but this may be good for those of you that are looking for a light body lotion that won’t make your chest or back break out!

Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser (gift)

It took so damn long to finish this! I didn’t realize at the time, but this jar is quite larger than the one sold at Shoppers. I like that it’s a simple formulation, affordable, and gets the job done like any high end balm makeup remover, I will however not be purchasing it. I’ve decided I no longer want to use makeup removers that require me using a towel to remove it. I’ve destroyed many face towels, and the madness needs to stop! This day and age, there are so many balm-type makeup removers that emulsify once you apply water, there’s no need for me to depend on this anymore.

Have you been trying to go through your products as well? I’ve also been “shopping my stash,” going through my current collection if I ever get the urge to buy and I end up re-loving items left at the back of the drawer!

xo, M
