Sun’s out, meaning my dry and scaly legs want to get out of hibernation. I was sent 2 products from Green Beaver’s Extra Dry Skin Therapy Line to prepare for such an occasion.
Green Beaver is a local, affordable, family-run Canadian brand that focuses on creating safe, natural products for any part of your body. I’ve always seen the brand in many health and eco shops I walk into, and always noticed they had a vast amount of products.
I’ve been using the following Green Beaver products for the past few weeks and am ready to share my thoughts with you all!
Green Beaver Extra Dry Skin Body Lotion *
Green Beaver Extra Moisturizing Lip Balm *
Not sure what the Lip Balm has to do with ugly legs, probably to distract the onlookers from how much I’ve let myself go?

Call me crazy (especially since I stated that I have dry and scaly legs), but I haven’t used cream or lotion to moisturize myself in a long time. Why? *lazy* and also I didn’t need to show my legs for a good amount of time.
Despite my laziness, I still gave the Green Beaver Extra Dry Skin Body Lotion a go, and waow. It has Anthemis Nobilis Flower Water (Chamomile water) as the first ingredient in the list instead of plain old aqua, followed by a decent amount of emollients to moisturize the skin. The ingredient list also contains Labrador Tea, Aloe Vera and Lavender Oil – all very good, gentle anti-inflammatory/soothing ingredients alongside the lovely Chamomile water (Lavender Oil is low on the list, if you were wondering).
You can mostly smell the Labrador Tea in it mixed with the Cinnamon Bark Oil once you apply; I don’t mind it, but it is noticeable, and IMO, a scent that you may have to get used to. Other than that, I am loving this moisturizer post-shower, especially when I went to town with exfoliation. It has a bit of a white film when you first apply it, but it disappears as you keep massaging the lotion into your skin. I’m never left with an overly-greasy feeling long after application that “extra-dry” skin products may trigger you to believe; Instead I have baby soft, bouncy skin once a few minutes has past. I put it all over my butt for good measure as well.
Recommend? Do it for your butt and scaly legs.
Extra Moisturizing Lip Balm
DESCRIPTION: “Our Extra Dry Lip Balm is specially formulated to protect red, dry lips caused by arctic winds. Enriched with moisturizing organic shea butter and skin-healing Canadian-grown Labrador tea, this balm provides soothing comfort throughout the winter season. Unflavoured so you won’t lick your lips dry again!”
QUICK FACTS: 10 mL – $4.99 CAD – Gluten Free – Cruelty Free – GMO Free – Biodegradable – 8/9 Ingredients are organically farmed – Certified EcoCert
Ingredient List
This product is probably the best lip balm they have out of their whole collection – I find the flavoured ones they carry do not moisturize my lips enough. The Green Beaver Extra Moisturizing Lip Balm is a very petrolatum-based inspired lip product, but without the petrolatum. Instead it gets its consistency from Castor Oil and Beeswax (hence why it’s not vegan). For those of you who like the thick consistency from those types of products, this will deliver! It also contains Labrador Tea in it, giving it that scent some of you may or may not like. A slight downfall to the Extra Moisturizing Lip Balm is you can’t help but taste the Castor Oil in it as it sits on your lips. Overall if you’re not up to spending coin on that Laneige Lip Mask going around the beautysphere (I love it doe), check out this lip balm.
Recommend? Yes – a great alternative to a non-petrolatum based lip balm.
Hope you enjoyed this review! Green Beaver is a great brand to check out if you want to get into local, natural products that are affordable! These 2 products from the Extra Dry Therapy Collection are definitely worth looking into if you’re in need of winter relief. You can either check out their products on their Official Website, or purchase off of Well.ca (Use “michxmash” to get $10 off your first purchase of $40+ !)
Thanks for reading.
