I tried Dermalogica’s Double Cleanse Routine ft. the PreCleanse Balm

IMO, double cleansing is probably one of the biggest reasons my skin started to clear up. Before I used to just run a basic cleanser (*cough* Cetaphil) on my face for a few seconds, rinse it off and rub my face with a towel. This routine obviously exacerbated my skin problems; I wore a cake-face amount of makeup to cover all the imperfections, and barely any of it would properly wash off. I basically just maintained a vicious cycle of skin problems because makeup would always be left on my face. It wasn’t until I discovered the magic of using facial oils as the first step of my skincare routine that I realized how important and beneficial a good cleansing routine is.

In short, Double Cleansing is – well – washing your face twice. But instead of using your regular cleanser two times, you want your first step to be an oil-based cleanser. This is beneficial as the first step of makeup removal because oil easily breaks down makeup and removes excess sebum your skin may have produced throughout the day.

Dermalogica released their newest product, the PreCleanse Balm. It is claimed to be a deep-cleansing balm-to-oil emulsifier that melts away impurities from the skin.

By using this with their Cleansing Mitt (included when purchasing the PreCleanse Balm), it’ll thoroughly cleanse the debris from the skin’s surface, and allow your cleanser to deliver more effective results.

HIT or MISS? Carbon Coco Ultimate Carbon Kit

A few weeks ago the company Carbon Coco contacted me to review their Ultimate Carbon Kit* that contains their popular Activated Charcoal Tooth Polish, Activated Charcoal Toothpaste, Bamboo Bristled Toothbrush, Tongue Cleaner, and Satin Pouch. I have been having my own oral health struggles for a bit, and have actually have been eyeing their products for quite a while on Instagram and Facebook, so the opportunity to test out and review these products could not have come at a better time!

“Made from 100% certified organic coconut shell charcoal, Carbon Coco not only brightens your smile, but also improves your overall mouth health. Our medical grade activated charcoal powder removes toxins, stains, and plaque from your teeth through a process called adsorption, in which activated charcoal binds with these particles and flushes them out of your teeth and mouth. The super finely milled polish won’t damage your enamel or gums and also contains bentonite clay, a natural ingredient that helps remineralise teeth plus a hint of lemon myrtle, which has gentle and non-acidic antibacterial properties.”

I have been using the products for two weeks, day and night. They claim that results will be seen in 7-14 days, and I wanted to really put it to the test to see if it works. Please be sure to read the additional information to fully understand how this product worked for me, and how it may benefit your oral health.

REVIEW: Foreo Espada

My mother was gifted the Foreo Espada Acne-Clearing Blue Light Pen from a friend. In return, she was kind enough to let me use it, since I am the most (acne) problem child out of the bunch. I am familiar with Colour Light Therapy and have tried Red light myself. Blue light however is supposed to be more up the alley of acne-related issues!

While writing this post, I took the time to really understand how Colour Light Therapy works. I try to sum it up my findings to share with you. So please read the disclaimer before reading the full post.
