ABOUT:
“Powerful, yet delectably moist
● SPF 50+ / PA++++
● Smooth gel without that roughness or stickiness characteristic of most sunscreens. Recommended for those who prefer a light, refreshing sunscreen.
Splash it on like a facial lotion – also serves as a make-up base
● Gel breaks down into a watery texture as you smooth it over your skin. After using face wash, this is all you need for complete skincare and UV protection.
*Can also be used after your usual facial lotion and other skincare products.
● Serves as a moisturizing make-up base with UV protection. Infuses your skin with moisture, helping your foundation to sit better and last longer.
● Use it on your body, as well as your face.
Skincare gel with 85% beautifying ingredients
● This pleasant watery gel contains 85% beautifying ingredients.
Easily portable tube format
● Sunscreen is most effective when reapplied frequently. Comes in an easily portable tube that makes it simple to adjust the amount you apply, so it’s perfect for reapplying sunscreen when you’re out and about.”

Amount: 40g
Protection: UVA/UVB
Strength: SPF 50+ PA++++

UV FILTERS:
Type: Hybrid
Chemical: Octinoxate, Uvinul A Plus, Tinosorb S
Physical: Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide

INGREDIENTS:
There’s no English on the packaging, so I looked at the following websites:
Ratzilla
COSDNA

CONSISTENCY: Light gel-cream.

APPLICATION: Spreads easily like a light gel and and dries down quickly.

FINISH: There is a very light, shimmery sheen to this product.
IMG_20181017_130150.jpg

FEEL: Light and matte. Slightly drying if you do not prep your skin well.

STINGS EYES? Never used it around eyes because of whatever shimmer pigments it uses.

WHITECAST? No.

WATER RESISTANT? No.

SKIN BENEFITS?
Based on their ingredients list, they have sodium hyaluronate, phytic acid, alpha glucan, ceramide, and a bunch of plant extracts near the end of the list. The first set of ingredients are nice and offer some moisturizing properties, but overall I’d just stick with this as a primer with sun protection benefits.

UNDER MAKEUP:
I’m surprised how it is under my It Cosmetics CC Cream. I thought it wouldn’t do much since the CC Cream has a glow on its own. In light applications of the CC Cream, this sunscreen/primer’s finish is actually what dominates as the base. It’s as if I have the coverage of the CC Cream, but the finish is that of the primer. I likey likey likey.

WHERE TO BUY:

CANMAKE Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF 50+ PA++++ surprised me. Not for the UV protection, but how great of a primer it is! The fact it took away the It Cosmetics CC Cream shine and used it’s own… Well, damn! As a sunscreen, it’s light and creates a grease-free surface, but somewhat drying on my normal to dry skin if I don’t moisturize my skin properly before hand. The tube is pretty small to last primarily as a sunscreen, so I only use it as a primer on top of a different sunscreen I have – it’s as if it helps to layer your sunscreen protection more elegantly, rather than gooping the original SPF you have on your face! I definitely recommend trying it out if you can. Unfortunately online options can be more expensive than in store, so if you are ever in Japan and are eyeing it, get it!

I figured a lot of people who go out for Valentine’s Day do something in the day time (like skating, coffee, exploring different parts of the city) so I wanted to film a look that perfects your skin and is fun and not too overbearing in the eye shadow department! And most importantly, your lippie will not transfer teeheeheeee……

First Impressions | Etude House 0.2mm Therapy Air Masks (Lotus, Hyaluronic Acid & Snail)

In my previous post Winter Skincare Routine for Dry and Acne Prone Skin I mentioned that sheet masks were Asia’s gift to us. I still and have always held by this statement since I tried sheet masks way back when I first started getting into Korean skincare.

If you don’t know, sheet masks are, well, sheets, on average the size of your face (not accurately), drenched in serum. While it may seem gimmicky, these babies sure do wonders. I always notice my face more hydrated, smooth, and bright. Depending on your specific skin concerns, constant use over time of specific sheet masks may help those problems!

While in Seoul a tourist must always walk around in Myeongdong, for this is where most, if not all, skincare shops are within walking distance of each other.

My favourite Korean brand Etude House was having a sale specifically for foreigners (lucky me) of 10pcs of the 0.2mm Therapy Air Masks for 10, 000 Won (~$12 CAD). Of course I got 4 packs (split between Nick and I. Nick uses sheet masks.)

I purchased Lotus (soothing & purifying), Hyaluronic Acid (skin moisturizing) and Snail (smoothening & firming).

Since it’ll be a while for Nick and I to go through all of them, this post will be dedicated to the first time use of each mask!

23 Years Old Loves: Zincnol & Badecasil

Hey lovelies,

Back when I was in Seoul at the end of September, I picked up 23 Years Old Zincnol and Badecasil while perusing Olive Young once or twice (or a few times).

What prompted me to pick up these products were:

  1. I needed a heavy moisturizer for the fall month that is compatible with my dry, acne prone skin
  2. I was breaking out like a mofo due to Korea’s harsh water supply, the long touristy days, and getting over a cold; I needed SOMETHING.

I’ve been using both products consistently for just over a month, so it’s about time to tell the world why I love these products.
